Wirtz & Daughters, a partner of Heritage Landscape is seeking a full time Mechanic/Service Technician that can provide superior service on our equipment. They will work on the equipment front to back, top to bottom. We are looking for well-trained and highly organized professionals with their own tools. Successful candidates will be responsible for diagnosing and minor repairs medium to heavy duty trucks, loader equipment, and mulch production equipment. Schedule: Monday thru Friday with overtime opportunity during the busy season. Pay range: $25 to $35 hourly (Depending on experience)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Diagnose trucks and fleet equipment based on observational and mechanical testing as well as information provided by the drivers and operators.
- Perform routine maintenance such as, but not limited to checking batteries, light bulbs, fluids, tire pressure, tire tread inspections and lubricating equipment and machinery. Maintain work area appearance and safety and other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
- Perform immediate repairs such as, but not limited to hydraulic hose/seal repairs, tire replacement/repair, belt adjustments, and minor welding as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Effective communication skills
- Have a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation to and from work
- Knowledge of tools and equipment required to conduct described repairs
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools required
- Must be able to lift and carry parts weighing up to 100 pounds
- Able to pass criminal, driving background check and a pre-employment drug test
Education and Experience:
- Possess a mechanical aptitude for construction related products
- Ability to work efficiently and neatly from job to job
- Read and interpret written information
- Ability to work independently
- CDL License preferred, but not required (opportunity for training and certification)
- Must have English verbal and written skills to be able to read purchase orders and communicate with team members
- Be reliable, safe and a team player
- High School degree or GED (General Education Degree)

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons
- Ability to stand for extended periods at a time
- Ability to perform work functions while on ladders and steps
- Ability to carry materials while climbing ladder and steps
- Possess physical mobility from standing, crouching, or climbing position
Pay range: $25 to $35 hourly (Depending on experience)
