As a Materials Management Assistant, you will support the implementation and operation of a new Inventory Management System. Your responsibilities will also include managing the Genesis stock management system, supervising stock flow, and ensuring efficient stock control.

How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen

  • Deliver and replenish goods to wards and departments, reviewing stock locations using the Genesis reporting system and maintaining stock levels.
  • Monitor and manage stock within wards and departments, ensuring adherence to budget targets where possible.
  • Conduct stock counts using barcode scanners and maintain files in line with departmental objectives.
  • Generate and analyze reports on stock levels, making necessary adjustments to meet demand.
  • Communicate stock updates to wards and departments, including delays, shortages, stock location changes, and returns issues.
  • Reprint barcode labels when discrepancies or changes are identified.
  • Track and action Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in line with departmental objectives.
  • Collaborate with ward managers and the Inventory & Purchasing Manager in implementing Genesis across hospital departments.
  • Notify relevant staff of any changes to storage areas in a timely manner.
  • Receive and issue goods, both physically and within the Genesis receipting system.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with ERP systems for stock management or payable processes.
  • Experience working with hospital products and knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Strong background in stock control.
  • Ability to analyze data and apply problem-solving techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail.
  • IT literate, with proficiency in stock management systems.
