Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Electrical Maintenance and Repair: Perform the removal, repair, and installation of electrical components and systems, including in-depth analysis, diagnosis, and advanced troubleshooting for system and process optimization. May also mentor or train other electrical personnel.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure the safe execution of routine and non-routine repairs and construction activities, adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
- Technical Expertise: Possess strong knowledge in maintaining and troubleshooting AC drives, Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs), field transmitters/transducers calibration, and low-voltage equipment.
- Preventative Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct preventative maintenance, installations, repairs, and diagnostics on industrial electrical and instrumentation equipment, such as substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, process controls, instrumentation, and pneumatic devices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Perform installations and renovations in compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.
- Operational Efficiency: Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work area guidelines, participate in safety and environmental initiatives, and operate equipment correctly at all times.
- Project Planning: Plan small-scale projects, including bill of materials preparation, layout design, and scheduling.
- Equipment Maneuvering: Safely maneuver large equipment in close proximity to other equipment, people, and structures, ensuring safety despite any vision (20/40 corrected in both eyes) or hearing (vocal and mechanical warnings) limitations.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as required by business needs, including non-electrical tasks when necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Educational Background: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electrical circuits and related equipment, with the ability to read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals, schematics, and prints.
- Specialized Experience: Proficiency in working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), low and medium voltage systems, AC/DC controls, instrumentation devices, diagnostic electrical test equipment, and HVAC systems.
