About the Client
Our client is a rapidly scaling AI startup building core infrastructure for video processing and generation. Their platform is used by major social, creative, and enterprise platforms globally to power real-time video applications. Backed by top-tier investors, they’re expanding their team to tackle complex technical challenges in video AI.
The Role
They’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer with a strong applied research mindset to design and optimize video AI pipelines. You’ll work on ambiguous problems like real-time video manipulation, multi-modal data fusion, and performance optimization for latency-critical systems.
This role blends research experimentation with production engineering – ideal for engineers who love solving open-ended problems and shipping robust solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Build and scale video AI pipelines (e.g., dynamic scene segmentation, adaptive translation).
- Optimize model performance through techniques like pipelining, quantization, and fine-tuning.
- Collaborate with researchers and engineers to translate customer needs into product features.
- Stay ahead of trends in video AI (diffusion models, transformers) and implement cutting-edge approaches.
Requirements
- 2+ years of software engineering experience in fast-paced startups or scale-ups.
- Expertise in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Experience with applied research (e.g., tackling ambiguous problems, rapid prototyping).
- Background in video processing (OpenCV, FFmpeg) or computer vision (CNNs, object tracking).
- Bonus: Side projects, open-source contributions, or publications in ML/vision.
