Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures, and use the appropriate tools and equipment for each task.
- Operate a fuel/lube truck to supply fuel for asphalt and paving operations.
- Perform minor repairs to keep equipment in proper working condition.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment to maximize efficiency and longevity.
- Perform annual inspections, evaluations, and necessary repairs to maintain compliance and operational standards.
- Keep an accurate schedule and detailed maintenance records for all vehicles and equipment.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong commitment to safety with a demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices.
- Proficiency in using basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring instruments, laptop computers, and diagnostic software.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- General knowledge of heavy equipment operations, including engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, mechanical components, and pneumatics, along with repair methods and common issues.
- Must either possess or be able to obtain the necessary tools to perform assigned duties effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- Reliable attendance with the ability to adhere to a set work schedule consistently.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) – Class B required, Class A preferred.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Tanker and Hazmat Endorsement within 30 days.
