Position Overview:
A leading HFT is looking for a skilled Linux Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain the backbone of the trading infrastructure. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a passion for performance optimization, low-latency systems, and solving complex technical challenges. As a Linux Engineer, you will work on high-performance server environments, supporting the demands of a global trading operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain high-performance Linux-based servers to support low-latency trading systems.
- Optimize system performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure uptime in a mission-critical environment.
- Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline system administration tasks.
- Collaborate with developers and network engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications.
- Monitor system health, respond to incidents, and proactively prevent potential issues.
- Evaluate and deploy patches, updates, and security configurations to maintain a secure and robust environment.
- Assist in hardware and software upgrades, focusing on minimizing downtime and optimizing throughput.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience managing Linux systems in high-performance environments.
- Deep knowledge of Linux (RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu), including kernel tuning, performance tuning, and low-latency optimization.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for automation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with configuration management tools.
- Familiarity with networking protocols, tools, and concepts.
- Strong understanding of storage solutions and file systems commonly used in high-throughput environments.
- Experience in HFT or finance is advantageous but not required.
