Job Description

Prerequisites
- Active Washington State LPN License
- Current CPR/BLS Certification (American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers)
Qualifications
- Ability to comprehend, execute, and work under the supervision of a healthcare provider.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform efficiently in high-pressure environments.
- Capacity to multi-task effectively, including managing multi-line phone systems.
- Excellent customer service and patient care skills, with a professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with patients, physicians, and staff.
- Well-groomed and neat appearance.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all age groups.
- Proficient in oral and written English communication.

Primary Responsibilities

Patient Flow & Clinical Support:
- Ensure efficient patient flow by pulling and preparing charts, rooming patients, and recording vital signs and chief complaints.
- Assist with multiple procedures, including minor surgeries, biopsies, and lesion excisions.
- Perform laceration care, wound dressing, and suture/clip removal.
- Set up procedure rooms, assist as needed, clean instruments, and wrap supplies.

Scheduling & Coordination:
- Arrange appointments for surgeries, procedures, and diagnostic tests.
- Coordinate follow-up appointments and referrals as ordered by physicians.
- Manage surgical scheduling, ensuring correct surgeon assignments and locations.
- Facilitate communication between surgeons, OR schedulers, and patients.
- Organize next-day surgery schedules, preventing physician conflicts.
- Arrange for surgical assistants when required.

Patient Communication & Education:
- Provide patients with preoperative and postoperative instructions.
- Act as the primary contact for surgical patients and respond to phone inquiries.
- Relay messages to surgeons and request necessary imaging or test results.
- Conduct medication reconciliation (HAC).

Administrative & Housekeeping Duties:
- Manage and respond to phone messages.
- Oversee clinic referral processes.
- Triage phone calls as needed.
- Maintain and restock exam rooms with supplies and linens.
- Close down clinic areas at the end of the day, ensuring that:
- Computers are shut down.
- Equipment is cleaned and properly stored.
- Linen and sharps containers are checked and replaced if needed.
Job Qualifications
Education & Licensing:
- Valid Washington State LPN License
- Current CPR/BLS Certification (American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers)
General Qualifications:
- Ability to work within the LPN scope of practice while following established protocols.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Well-groomed and professional appearance.
- Ability to interact effectively with a diverse patient population.
- Skilled in working with patients across all age groups and adapting to their physical and emotional needs.
