MPG Architects is a 34-person firm designing a variety of projects for multi-family, healthcare, hospitality, industrial, and a wide variety of other projects. We have a great office atmosphere and team!

JOB DESCRIPTION

Approximately 30 hours per week, in-person in our office. Must be proficient in QuickBooks, minimum of 2 years experience.

Location & Schedule:

  • In Office Monday through Thursday with remote option on Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Management:
  • Manage daily bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and balance sheets.
  • Assist with month-end and fiscal year-end closing (June 30).
  • Payroll:
  • Process semi-monthly payroll via ADP, including 401k and benefit deductions.
  • Issue bonus checks and ensure compliance.
  • Invoicing:
  • Assist Project Managers with accurate invoicing by entering job related expenses before deadlines.
  • Support accounts receivable and collections.
  • Tax Compliance:
  • File CAT taxes and make payments.
  • Prepare quarterly federal income tax payments and BWC true-up reports.
  • Reconciliation:
  • Reconcile credit cards and bank accounts monthly.
  • Maintain records for vehicle loans.
  • Expenses:
  • Process employee expense reimbursements and maintain billable rates.
  • Reporting:
  • Prepare unclaimed funds reports and lien waivers.
  • Generate general journal entries (GJEs) as needed.
  • Assist with calendar year-end closing processes and 1099 issuance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Controller, preferably in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks, preferably QuickBooks On-line.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Accounting degree preferred, not required.
