Duties

Provide support and intervention to assist patients and families facing personal or environmental challenges that may contribute to illness or hinder their ability to receive the full benefits of medical care. This role is part of a consultative service that addresses the social, psychological, rehabilitative, protective, and financial needs of patients, ensuring comprehensive coordination of care.

Required Qualifications: Inpatient Medical Social Worker

  • Master’s degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited university required.
  • Minimum of two years of social work experience required.
  • Understanding of confidentiality guidelines for client and staff information required.
  • Proficiency in various computer applications, including Microsoft Excel and Word, required.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations and their families required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrates commitment, motivation, teamwork, professionalism, and a high level of energy required.
  • Knowledge of healthcare services and available resources required.
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical skills required.
  • Certified Social Worker (CSW) under Nebraska law OR Provisional Certified Master of Social Work (PCMSW) required.
