IT Infrastructure Manager (Windows)

Optomi, in collaboration with one of the nation’s top specialty distributors, is seeking an IT Infrastructure Manager to lead the hands-on management and execution of IT infrastructure and security operations. This role is responsible for ensuring system stability, security, and performance across internal IT systems, cloud environments, network services, and end-user computing. The IT Infrastructure Manager will also oversee vendor relationships, service desk operations, escalations, and IT projects aligned with company objectives. This position plays a vital role in maintaining efficient IT operations while optimizing service availability, security, and cost-effectiveness.

Ideal Candidate’s Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7-10 years of IT experience, including:
    • 5+ years managing vendors, procurement, and service desk operations.
    • 5+ years working with Microsoft Cloud Suite (Azure, Office 365, Teams, Intune, etc.).
    • 7+ years of infrastructure experience, with 3-5 years in a senior role.
    • 3+ years leading a team.
  • Expertise in public/private cloud environments, with strong Azure security and best practices.
  • Proven experience in server, firewall, and network management.
  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud architecture, security frameworks, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Broad experience across IT infrastructure disciplines, including architecture, systems administration, network design, database systems, virtualization, and storage networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee internal IT systems, including network infrastructure, Azure cloud services, storage, virtualization, and enterprise applications.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring SLA compliance, contract adherence, and operational performance.
  • Supervise IT service desk operations, handling technical escalations and ensuring optimal service delivery.
  • Provide hands-on expertise in Azure cloud environments, managing deployments, scaling, and security configurations.
  • Lead and execute IT projects, such as network upgrades, cloud implementations, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Deliver top-tier customer service by resolving technical issues efficiently and focusing on user satisfaction.
  • Address technical escalations, troubleshoot complex problems, and minimize disruptions.
  • Assist in budget planning while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, business units, and external partners to align IT strategies with business objectives.
