Qualifications & Requirements
- Formal education or training in electrical theory
- Preferred: Experience with AC & DC motors and power transformers
- Knowledge and experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
- Understanding of electrical safety protocols
- Experience operating manlifts
- Background in preventative and corrective maintenance
- Familiarity with frequency drives, motor buckets, and circuit breakers
- Preferred: 2 years of experience in an industrial electrical role
- Experience working with instrumentation and feedback signals
- Solid understanding of fundamental electrical theory
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of adapting to changing priorities and working independently
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and in all weather conditions
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety – Uphold and enforce company safety policies and best practices
- Perform preventative & corrective maintenance on metal sorting mill equipment
- Analyze and resolve issues in the metal refining process
- Diagnose and repair equipment, systems, and processes
- Assess cost-benefit scenarios to determine the best course of action
- Perform general labor tasks – Sweeping, shoveling, and maintaining a clean work environment
- Communicate effectively with team members via radio
- Ensure yard cleanliness and safety compliance
- Cross-train in other roles and support team members as needed
- Other duties as assigned by management
