HR Manager
Salary Range:$105k – $120k
Location: Onsite in Walnut Creek, CA
The Sage Group’s client is a leading private real estate investment company is searching for a HR Manager with real estate investment company experience.
The HR Manager will report to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) and will be an integral part of our team, responsible for overseeing a broad range of business operations, including a significant focus on HR excellence. This role combines strategic project management with hands-on HR operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Experience managing aspects of HR (75%):
Background checks and the corresponding documentation
Applicant tracking and ensuring adherence to approval processes
Onboarding (new computer, benefits, etc.)
Handbook and labor law compliance
Corresponding and managing with employment attorney and other HR consultants
Terminations
LOAs
Open enrollment
Managing and improving payroll forms, agreement acknowledgements, employee handbooks (annual employee handbook review), etc.
Working on Quarterly Check Ins completion reporting and chasing
Following up on and tracking coaching/PIP (not delivering)
Supporting with job description/job profile updates as roles evolve
Annual review management (self evals with employees) – done by June for annual increase – self eval in iSolved
Annual minimum wage reviews
Project and Operations Management (25%):
Investor relations communications
Working with CAO to determine hiring needs for property management
Assisting CAO with new software implementation and identifying resources to aid in this endeavor.
Leading bi-weekly executive sync meetings where we discuss HR and operations matters
Characteristics/Traits:
Knowledge of current HR standards, such as CA employment regulations, ACA compliance, 401K, etc.
Be able to structure and scope complex problems, apply a range of analytical tools to develop solutions and prioritize risks and issues
Be able to create and form relationships with key stakeholders to drive enablement of programs
Be able to demonstrate experience in partnering with cross functional teams for HR tools deployment.
Be comfortable working in an unstructured environment and providing feedback to better improve processes and policies
