Our independent optometric offices are located inside select Eyeglass World, where we currently provide exceptional care for our patients. Position Overview:
The HR and Compliance Manager will serve as a strategic partner to leadership, focusing on talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and HR best practices. As a dynamic and fast-growing company, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR and Compliance Manager to lead our human resources functions and oversee compliance initiatives. This role will play a critical part in shaping company culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Partner with department supervisors to manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, phone screenings, interviews, and offer letters.
- Oversee the onboarding process, including employment verification, contract management, benefits enrollment, and policy review.
- Ensure a smooth and engaging new hire experience, promoting retention and integration.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Encourage a positive work environment by proactively addressing employee concerns and facilitating open communication.
- Assist in planning and coordinating employee engagement initiatives such as team-building events, celebrations, and philanthropic activities.
- Manage conflict resolution, provide coaching to employees and supervisors, and ensure consistent application of HR policies.
Performance Management & Development
- Oversee performance review processes, including 90-day and annual evaluations, ensuring timely completion.
- Collaborate with department supervisors to set and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that align with business goals.
- Assist in designing career development programs and employee training initiatives.
Compliance & HR Policies
- Stay up to date with labor laws, employment regulations, and industry compliance requirements.
- Review, update, and implement HR policies, including employee handbooks, SOPs, job descriptions, and compliance-related procedures.
- Oversee the organization’s HIPAA compliance program in coordination with external consultants.
- Serve as a resource for employees and management on benefits-related questions and issues.
HR Administration & Documentation
- Maintain confidential and accurate employee records, including personnel files, performance documentation, and compliance records.
- Support disciplinary procedures, including drafting and delivering verbal and written warnings, performance improvement plans, and termination notices.
- Conduct internal HR investigations while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Manage bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and resolving timekeeping discrepancies.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, plan inquiries, claims resolution, and open enrollment processes.
- Serve as a resource for employees and management on benefits-related questions and issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years as an HR Manager or HR Business Partner with a focus on recruitment, employee relations, and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Experience with HIPAA compliance preferred but not required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
