GSL Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated History Teacher to join a prestigious school in Market Harborough from January 2025. This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of historians while being part of a supportive academic environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in History, coupled with the ability to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment for all students.
As a History Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons, fostering critical thinking, and encouraging students to develop a deep understanding of historical events.
Responsibilities Of a History Teacher
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging History lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Differentiate lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Assess student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement.
- Contribute to the development of the History department’s curriculum and teaching resources.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students in line with safeguarding protocols.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance students’ learning experience across subjects.
Required Qualifications For a History Teacher
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge and a degree in History or a related field.
- Previous experience teaching History in a secondary school setting.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for a new DBS check.
