Responsibilities
- Assist your team in preparing ingredients and food products according to prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards.
- Utilize a variety of cooking and preparation techniques—chopping, cutting, grilling, roasting, sautéing, frying, and more—to craft menu items with precision and efficiency.
- Keep all prep and cooking areas clean, sanitary, and organized at all times.
- Maintain refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, and dry storage areas to the highest cleanliness and organization standards.
- Train team members on safe usage of kitchen equipment and proper handling of cleaning compounds; report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent to build a strong team.
- Support training and development efforts, ensuring world-class execution of JOEY standards and tasks.
- Provide daily guidance, coaching, and feedback to team members.
- Oversee in-store budgets, food costs, and labor to ensure operational efficiency.
- Elevate the guest experience by delivering Iconic Hospitality and coaching the kitchen team to uphold JOEY’s service standards.
- Follow all food safety and handling regulations to maintain a safe dining environment.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of culinary experience (High-potential candidates with less experience are also encouraged to apply!).
- Must hold or obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler permits.
- Passion for hospitality and a track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Physical capability to stand and walk for long periods, perform repetitive manual tasks, and lift up to 50 lbs.
