Key Responsibilities
Menu Development and Food Preparation
- Create innovative and seasonal menus that cater to customer preferences and align with the restaurant’s vision.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes to ensure quality and consistency.
- Monitor and control portion sizes and food costs to achieve financial targets set by the General Manager
- Stay updated on food trends and incorporate them into the menu where appropriate.
Operational Management
- Manage inventory, including ordering and stock rotation, to minimise waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of all kitchen areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained and report any repairs or replacements needed.
- Collaborate with front-of-house management to ensure a seamless guest experience.
Financial Responsibility
- Monitor kitchen budgets and manage food costs effectively.
- Identify opportunities to optimise resources and reduce expenses.
- Analyse sales and customer feedback to adjust menus and pricing strategies.
