We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller role in Edmonton. The Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations and reporting within a manufacturing environment.
This role involves providing leadership to the Accounting team, maintaining accurate financial records, conducting cost analysis, and working with ownership to grow the business.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the Accounting department, providing guidance and support to team members
• Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and capabilities of the Finance team
• Manage financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, inventory, and fixed assets
• Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Conduct cost analysis to optimize manufacturing processes, materials, and labor costs
• Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze relevant data to support accurate and timely financial reporting
• Develop internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
Required:
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Controller role or similar capacity
• Proficient in Accounting Functions, including the management of accounts payable and receivable
• CPA designation is required
• Knowledge of Standard Costing for accurate financial forecasting
• Ability to conduct Ad Hoc Financial Analysis for strategic decision-making
• Experience in preparing and reviewing Audited Financial Statements
• Strong skills in Financial Analysis, including profitability, variance, and sales trend analysis
