Finance Manager, PARP Finance Team (Pickup and Return Points)

Job Category: Finance Manager
Job Type: Full Time
Job Location: USA
Company Name: Amazon

OVERVIEW:                                                                                                                                                                                         Amazon operates based on four key principles: a focus on customer obsession rather than competing with others, a passion for innovation, a commitment to operational excellence, and long-term thinking. We are motivated by the excitement of developing new technologies, inventing products, and offering services that positively impact lives. We embrace new approaches, make quick decisions, and aren’t afraid to fail. While we have the scale and resources of a large company, we maintain the agility and spirit of a small one.

Together, Amazonians innovate and develop new technologies, from Amazon Web Services to Alexa, all with our customers in mind—shoppers, sellers, content creators, and developers worldwide.

Our mission is to be the most customer-centric company on Earth. Everything we do—our actions, goals, projects, programs, and inventions—is driven by keeping the customer at the forefront.

At Amazon, we also say it’s always “Day 1.” This means we approach every day with the same mindset as when Amazon first started: making smart, fast decisions, staying agile, innovating, and focusing on delighting our customers. At Amazon, finance is about more than just the numbers. It’s about understanding the data and using it to generate new ideas and solutions. Do you see challenges as opportunities and are you ready to dive deep to create solutions and drive results? Are you willing to challenge the status quo and accept that your ideas and strategies may be tested regularly? At Amazon, we act with purpose and speed, collaborating with a dynamic network of Operations, HR, Tech, and Retail teams. We leverage data and communication to ensure our partners and leaders have the most accurate and timely information to make the best decisions.

The Pickup and Return Points Finance team is looking for a data-driven Finance Manager with strong business and financial expertise. This person will help guide strategic decisions that involve significant growth and profitability trade-offs, playing a key role in shaping solutions for our customers.

This role goes beyond traditional finance—it requires creativity, a willingness to experiment, and the ability to work with business partners to design financially sustainable solutions that can scale globally. It’s a strategic role where business partnering and curiosity are essential. If you’re excited about shaping the Pickup and Returns experience for customers and thrive in complex, ambiguous environments, this could be the role for you!

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with and support senior leadership in shaping the product/project roadmap, focusing on financial and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Develop financial models to support new product and expansion initiatives.
  • Oversee financial reporting for your business area, understanding the key drivers and ensuring the integrity of the reporting to guide strategic decision-making and planning.
  • Identify and address complex data integrity issues, and improve controls to mitigate financial risk.
  • Educate business partners on financial and non-financial trade-offs, making informed decisions in ambiguous situations where data may be limited or difficult to obtain.

About the Team:

The vision of the Pickup and Return Points (PARP) team is to offer every customer, across all geographies, a safe and reliable pickup and returns experience that is conveniently located near their home or workplace, with shipping speeds, pricing, and selection that are competitive or superior to home delivery options.

The PARP portfolio includes Commercial and Residential Lockers, Counters, Third-Party Solutions (managing networks owned end-to-end by commercial carriers), Quality Improvement, Marketing, Advertising, International Expansion, and more. The PARP Finance team supports the business across all of these segments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Computer Science).
  • 5+ years of finance experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of finance experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, diagnosing root causes, and developing/implementing an escalation plan.
  • 6+ years of experience solving complex business challenges by providing accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that drive measurable impacts on business outcomes (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
  • MBA or CPA.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
