Job Overview – Financial Controller:

Join our client’s prestigious team as a Financial Controller in New York City. This hybrid role focuses on extending family office services, including bill pay and legal entity accounting for select clients. You will work closely with client advisors, finance, and technology teams, ensuring the quality and timeliness of client deliverables.

Responsibilities as the Financial Controller:

  • Bill Payment Services: Manage all regular and non-recurring expenses, onboard clients onto the Bill Payment platform, and ensure accounts are funded and distributions processed.
  • Cash Flow Management: Provide cash flow support, budgeting, and projections on an entity basis.
  • Financial Statements: Prepare monthly or quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and statements of cash flows.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain regular communication with clients, managing the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Coordination: Work with tax accountants on tax-related payments and third parties for charitable obligations.
  • Investment Monitoring: Oversee investment activities related to liquidity management.
  • Legal Entity Accounting: Coordinate payments for lines of credit, loans, and insurance premiums.

Qualifications for the Financial Controller:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; CPA preferred.
  • Experience: 5-10 years in accounting, with experience in tax compliance and asset class investments.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with general ledger systems like AgilLink.
  • Attributes: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
