In this role, you will teach Lower School lab-based science classes using a Christian classical educational model, engaging students through hands-on experiences, exploration, and the scientific method.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate Christian worldview principles into classroom instruction and student interactions.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams and department members to implement the liberal arts curriculum.
• Utilize diverse teaching methods to ensure academic growth in every student.
• Regularly communicate with parents, sharing updates, photos, and classroom highlights.
• Establish a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Continuously expand professional knowledge through faculty meetings and professional development.
• Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with best educational practices.
• Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and academic progress reports.
• Coordinate and schedule Innovation Lab activities for each class.
• Participate in school events such as curriculum nights, arts performances, science fairs, and open houses.
• Monitor hallways, study periods, and lunchrooms alongside faculty and staff.
• Manage the science curriculum, budget, and supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are available.
• Teach lab-based science lessons that instill curiosity and excitement for learning.
• Guide students in developing scientific understanding through classical pedagogy and the scientific method.
• Encourage personal engagement with the Gospel through instruction and interactive learning experiences.
• Help students integrate Christian thought into their scientific studies.
• Teach students to apply cultural discernment within a biblical framework.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Education

• Bachelor’s degree required (degree in Science Education preferred).
• Teaching credential preferred.
• Experience working with Lower School students preferred.
• Familiarity with classical education methodology and Christian worldview integration is a plus.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States—sponsorship is not available.
