Your Role
The Bear Creek School is looking to expand its teaching team! Teachers at Bear Creek utilize a classical Christian education model to guide students in academic excellence, character development, and personal growth in alignment with God’s purpose for them. At Bear Creek, Christian classical education serves as a transformative framework for both teaching and inspiring students. In this role, you will teach Lower School lab-based science classes using a Christian classical educational model, engaging students through hands-on experiences, exploration, and the scientific method.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate Christian worldview principles into classroom instruction and student interactions.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams and department members to implement the liberal arts curriculum.
- Utilize diverse teaching methods to ensure academic growth in every student.
- Regularly communicate with parents, sharing updates, photos, and classroom highlights.
- Establish a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Continuously expand professional knowledge through faculty meetings and professional development.
- Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with best educational practices.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and academic progress reports.
- Coordinate and schedule Innovation Lab activities for each class.
- Participate in school events such as curriculum nights, arts performances, science fairs, and open houses.
- Monitor hallways, study periods, and lunchrooms alongside faculty and staff.
- Manage the science curriculum, budget, and supplies, ensuring all necessary materials are available.
- Teach lab-based science lessons that instill curiosity and excitement for learning.
- Guide students in developing scientific understanding through classical pedagogy and the scientific method.
- Encourage personal engagement with the Gospel through instruction and interactive learning experiences.
- Help students integrate Christian thought into their scientific studies.
- Teach students to apply cultural discernment within a biblical framework.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree required (degree in Science Education preferred).
- Teaching credential preferred.
- Experience working with Lower School students preferred.
- Familiarity with classical education methodology and Christian worldview integration is a plus.
- Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States—sponsorship is not available.
