Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to build and manage strategic partnerships with leading laboratories in the microbiome space. This role will focus on identifying and engaging with labs that utilize Element Biosciences and Illumina sequencing platforms to create mutually beneficial partnerships that expand our market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

– Develop and execute a strategic business development plan targeting premier laboratories in the microbiome and probiotics sector

– Identify, qualify, and engage potential laboratory partners with established Element Biosciences and Illumina capabilities

– Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers within partner organizations

– Negotiate and structure partnership agreements that drive value for both parties

– Create compelling value propositions that demonstrate the benefits of integrating our bioinformatics platform

– Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful partnership implementations

– Monitor market trends and competitor activities in the microbiome analysis space

– Achieve quarterly and annual partnership revenue targets

Required Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field; MBA preferred

– MUST HAVE a minimum of 5 years of business development or sales experience in life sciences, preferably in laboratory services or bioinformatics

– Demonstrated track record of building successful B2B partnerships in the biotechnology sector

– Strong understanding of next-generation sequencing technologies, particularly Element Biosciences and Illumina platforms

– Experience working with laboratories focused on microbiome, probiotics, or related fields

– Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills

– Strong presentation and communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

– Experience with bioinformatics platforms or software solutions

– Knowledge of microbiome research and applications

– Previous experience in laboratory operations or technical sales

– Established network within the probiotics and microbiome research community
