POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a proactive and independent Controller to manage our financial activities and ensure the fiscal health of our growing organization.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with occasional in-person meetings in Nashville, TN. You will work closely with our executive team, providing essential financial updates and strategic advice. Supported by our Outsourced CFO, this role has a clear path to growth.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the finance and accounting departments, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports, offering insights and recommendations to guide strategic decision-making.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes to manage cash flow, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.
- Collaborate with senior management to refine financial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives.
- Work with our CPA firm to manage and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Continuously improve financial policies, procedures, and systems to boost efficiency and effectiveness.
- Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and excellence within the finance and accounting departments and throughout the organization.
Skill and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or 5-7 years in industry roles (assistant controller, finance, or accounting manager).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, financial analysis, and budgeting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently, solve problems, manage multiple priorities, and develop or refine existing processes.
- Proficiency with financial software, operating platforms, and advanced Excel capabilities. We operate in QuickBooks Online today but would likely transition to an enterprise level (multi-entity) solution in coming years.
