Temporary Staffing + Search is assisting our client, an exceptional Jewish nonprofit organization that does life-saving work in Israel. This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity located in Los Angeles, CA.

The Development & Events Coordinator is responsible for supporting fundraising activities, donor relations, event planning, and administrative tasks to ensure the effective execution of the organization’s development initiatives. The position involves donor communications, event coordination, and database management, with a strong emphasis on customer service and organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising & Donor Relations: (all within Raiser’s Edge database, Excel, and WORD)

  • Draft, edit, and manage reports, correspondence, solicitation materials, and thank-you letters for donors.
  • Provide administrative support for donor development activities, including maintaining donor and prospect databases, tracking donations, and generating reports.
  • Manage donor meeting notes, update donor profiles, and ensure the confidentiality and security of all donor information.
  • Process pledges, prepare gift reports, acknowledgment letters, and coordinate pledge materials.
  • Handle donor visitor requests and coordinate with Israeli representatives.
  • Maintain inventory of awards, certificates, and giveaways for donors.

Event Planning & Coordination:

  • Plan, coordinate, and support cultivation events and meetings involving staff, lay leadership, volunteers, and committees.
  • Coordinate region activity calendars and ensure appropriate office coverage for all events and tasks.
  • Manage event logistics, including room reservations, catering, and the preparation and distribution of notices and materials.
  • Develop and produce documents, invitations, and support materials for meetings and mailings.

Administrative Support:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for donors, community leaders, and staff, providing excellent customer service.
  • Screen calls and manage communications, resolving requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Assemble and distribute informational packets, materials, and correspondence to donors.
  • Create photo albums and donor recognition materials for events and dedications.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of an Associate’s degree; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of Development/Donor experience within a nonprofit organization.
  • Raiser’s Edge experience preferred, donor database experience required.
  • Ability to work required overtime in the evenings and rotating Sundays during event season.
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS WORD and Excel, you will be tested.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with donors and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
