As a Health Care Assistant in our Practice Plus Group Hospital, Plymouth youll be a member of the team that provides high quality care to our patients during their time in theatres. This is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract position A Part-time requirement offering 20.25 hours per week. Working on a rota basis Monday to Friday + one Saturday per month 07:00 to 19:00 or 07:00 to 17:30

Main duties of the job

As one of our Healthcare Assistants in our Day Surgery unit, you’ll be ensuring that our patients receive a high standard of care by carrying out routine patient monitoring and care duties that will be relevant to each individual patient. You’ll be expected to have gained up to date knowledge of your patient, by investigating the patent pathway. Youll need to competently and accurately update patient records, ensuring the patient pathway is being followed and documented. You’ll make sure your patients are prepared and ready for any treatments or surgery booked and ensure all necessary checks are conducted prior to a treatment or surgery taking place. As the Healthcare Assistant, you will be conscious of health, safety and hygiene aspects in a department. Not only will you look to make sure the department is clean, you will monitor and look for potential hazards, ensuring they are made safe or the issue is quickly brought to the attention or the Department Manager.
