Sebastian Tech Solutions is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Database Administrator for one of our clients. The designated candidate for this position will join a collaborative team environment, providing support and expertise necessary toward the successful delivery of the project deliverables, and provide effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting status/progress. The place of performance for this contract is in Washington, DC.

WORK TO BE PERFORMED ON-SITE (REMOTE WORK POSSIBLE)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Extensive experience administering Oracle RAC production databases running Oracle 11gR2 or higher on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) including the design, provisioning, and maintenance of the databases.
  • Experience configuring Oracle databases to meet federal security guidelines.
  • Significant experience working with and debugging Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Extensive experience identifying and resolving performance or availability issues in Oracle databases.
  • Extensive experience with database backup/recovery tools and techniques, such as Oracle RMAN and Flashback.
  • Extensive experience administering multi-site Oracle RAC database implementations using Oracle Data Guard.
  • Experience providing guidance and support to application developers in the creation and deployment of DML or DDL scripts in support of application maintenance or deployment.
  • Extensive experience performing maintenance and upgrades for Oracle RAC database implementation.
  • In-depth, hands-on experience in installing and configuring Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Able to drill down in OEM to identify any performance issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience.
  • Extensive experience administering Oracle RAC production databases running Oracle 19c or higher on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) including the design, provisioning, and maintenance of the databases.
  • Experience configuring Oracle databases to meet federal security guidelines.
  • Significant experience working with and debugging Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Extensive experience identifying and resolving performance or availability issues in Oracle databases.
  • Extensive experience performing Oracle RAC patching and upgrades.
  • Extensive experience with database backup/recovery tools and techniques, such as Oracle RMAN and Flashback.
  • Extensive experience administering multi-site Oracle RAC database implementations using Oracle Data Guard.
  • Experience providing guidance and support to application developers in the creation and deployment of DML or DDL scripts in support of application maintenance or deployment.
  • Extensive experience performing maintenance and upgrades for Oracle RAC database implementation.
