Summary:
As a Data Analyst you will coordinate changes to computer databases, test, and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems.
The team is responsible for various processes to transfer data between a structured database and other systems to ship virtual machines in Azure and is critical for shipping products that generate significant revenue for Azure. The team also aims to automate data transfer processes.
Key projects:
- This role will contribute to executing a repeatable monthly process to transfer data, ensuring it is transmitted, captured, and inputted correctly.

- Monitoring and troubleshooting issues in real-time, ensuring data is handled properly and resolving any system flaws.
- Handling dynamic problems triggered by other teams, such as issues with billing meters for new Azure regions.
- Documenting new processes and maintaining communication with the team to ensure smooth operations.
- The role involves working on essential processes that are crucial for the functioning of Azure, specifically related to data transfer and virtual machine shipping. This provides valuable experience in a high-impact area.
- Successful performance in this role could lead to future opportunities within Azure, as it demonstrates the ability to manage critical functions effectively.
- The position allows for remote work, providing flexibility in terms of location.
Candidate Requirements:
- Strong understanding of critical data and tools skills.
- Ability to clearly express their responsibilities, actions, and outcomes in previous roles.
- Experience with database technology, ETL processes, and tools like ADO and PowerBI (Fabric).
- 2-3 years experience with database and database structures
- 2-3 years experience with Microsoft365 – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- 2-3 years experience with ADO & PowerBI/Fabric
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with senior management, technical and client teams in order to determine data requirements, business data implementation approaches, best practices for advanced data manipulation, storage and analysis strategies
- Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions
- Design, implement, automate and maintain large scale enterprise data ETL processes
- Modify existing databases and database management systems and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes
- Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications
Skills:
- Experience with database technologies
- Knowledge of the ETL process
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated history of success
- Desire to be working with data and helping businesses make better data driven decisions
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
