Responsibilities

  • Enhance and develop Element’s Incident Response (IR) capabilities, aligning with industry best practices such as NIST, SANS, and other cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Lead and coordinate cyber incident management, acting as the primary incident manager and technical authority for Cyber Defense. Conduct thorough investigations to assess risk, determine root causes, evaluate impacts, and implement remediation actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Privacy, Legal, and senior stakeholders, to ensure clear communication and alignment. Prepare and deliver detailed written and verbal incident status reports to keep leadership informed.
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and analysis, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous enhancement of incident response processes.
  • Perform digital forensics and malware analysis on computer/network artifacts to assess risk and impact and support incident mitigation efforts.
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Incident Response to contribute to the development of cyber defense metrics and performance evaluations.
  • Stay up to date with emerging cyber threats, attack techniques, and security technologies, continuously strengthening the organization’s incident response capabilities.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of experience in cybersecurity, specifically in Cyber Incident Response or Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR). Experience handling complex cyber incidents is a plus.
  • Prior experience working within a large, federated organization, with a solid understanding of cyber defense operations across both the public and private sectors.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC are advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Cultural awareness and adaptability to work effectively in a global corporate environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience interacting with senior executives and conveying complex security information to non-technical audiences.
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and solution-driven, with a positive mindset and a belief in security as a key enabler of business growth.
