Position Overview:
As a Cross Border Freight Specialist with our client, you will be responsible for generating revenue through U.S.-Mexico cross-border freight business development, specifically focusing on managing freight both to and from Mexico. This role involves growing and developing your sales funnel, fostering relationships with new and existing clients, and closing sales. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless operations for the accounts you manage. Success in this role requires persistence, resilience, a proactive approach, and a drive to exceed sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Drive revenue growth by onboarding new clients focused on U.S.-Mexico cross-border freight, both inbound and outbound
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients
- Maintain consistent communication with clients to ensure service satisfaction and identify additional business opportunities
- Analyze market conditions to identify competitive advantages and growth areas within cross-border logistics
- Lead pricing negotiations, rate discussions, and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Track and report key performance metrics to ensure sales targets are consistently met
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth execution of cross-border freight services to and from Mexico
- Analyze and optimize clients’ supply chains to identify opportunities for additional service offerings
- Actively generate and convert sales leads into revenue-generating accounts with a focus on U.S.-Mexico cross-border business development
- Travel as required to meet with clients and foster business relationships
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in 3PL/logistics/freight brokerage sales
- 5+ years of experience in Mexican Cross-Border Freight sales, managing both U.S.-to-Mexico and Mexico-to-U.S. shipments
- Demonstrated success in outside sales, with a track record of managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals
- Strong negotiation skills with experience in handling complex pricing and rate discussions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and client relationship management
- Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- A solid understanding of logistics operations is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Must be currently selling cross-border Mexican freight solutions for both inbound and outbound shipments
- Bilingual candidates preferred
