Essential Functions
- Perform month-end closing activities related to cost accounting.
- Prepare actual vs. budget analysis and various financial reports on manufacturing costs, inventory, and expenses to support decision-making.
- Set up new raw materials and packaging, ensuring periodic cost updates and maintenance.
- Analyze the impact of product design changes, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services on costs.
- Compare standard costs to actual production costs and prepare periodic reports.
- Record cost information to support expenditure control.
- Develop cost estimates for new and proposed products or services.
- Recommend cost-saving efficiencies in new product layouts.
- Provide management with reports comparing pricing and profitability factors of products or services.
- Develop and maintain standard costs for finished goods and production components in SAP.
- Enhance processes and controls related to manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
- Lead and manage the quarterly excess and obsolete inventory review process.
- Ensure SAP data validity and accuracy through analysis, internal audits, and collaboration with inventory control, production, and work order processing.
- Assist in developing and documenting policies, procedures, system requirements, and internal controls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in the food industry is a plus.
- Hands-on SAP experience preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on cost accounting preferred.
- 3+ years of operational experience, particularly with inventory management.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles and general accounting concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including modeling and analytical techniques.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
