About the Company:
Totlani & Partners is assisting a metal manufacturer with their Controller search.
Job Summary:
The Controller will oversee all financial and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, cost control, and strategic financial planning. This individual will play a key role in driving profitability, maintaining internal controls, and optimizing financial processes. Cost accounting expertise is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes.
- Manage cost accounting, including standard cost development, variance analysis, and cost control strategies.
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation, WIP tracking, and raw material cost analysis.
- Provide financial insights to improve operational efficiency, pricing strategies, and profitability.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring strong financial governance.
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to drive cost savings and process improvements.
- Support capital expenditure analysis, financial modeling, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Manage audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
- Optimize the use of ERP systems for financial reporting and data integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive or metal manufacturing highly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and standard costing methodologies.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
