About the Company:

Totlani & Partners is assisting a metal manufacturer with their Controller search.

Job Summary:

The Controller will oversee all financial and accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, cost control, and strategic financial planning. This individual will play a key role in driving profitability, maintaining internal controls, and optimizing financial processes. Cost accounting expertise is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes.
  • Manage cost accounting, including standard cost development, variance analysis, and cost control strategies.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation, WIP tracking, and raw material cost analysis.
  • Provide financial insights to improve operational efficiency, pricing strategies, and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring strong financial governance.
  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to drive cost savings and process improvements.
  • Support capital expenditure analysis, financial modeling, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Manage audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
  • Optimize the use of ERP systems for financial reporting and data integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive or metal manufacturing highly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and standard costing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
