Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to join their team in Atlanta. This is a full-time, permanent position with a direct client of Aprio Talent Solutions.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the retail, manufacturing, or lumber industry and will play a key role in ensuring robust and efficient financial operations.

Location: Atlanta, GA 30339

In office: 5 days a week

Salary: Up to $150k + Bonus (salary depends on experience)

  • This role requires 5 days per week onsite.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Manage AP/AR, billing, cash functions, and handle debits and credits.
  • Lead/mentor a team of 3+ individuals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Prepare financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
  • Collaborate with external financial statement auditors and tax services to ensure compliance with all regulations and GAAP.
  • Work with insurance brokers on health and safety requirements for the company.
  • Conduct financial analysis to make forecasts and report to upper executives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the retail, manufacturing, or lumber industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Forward-thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems (Agility preferred but not required).
