Project Manager – Healthcare Construction
Role Overview
This position is responsible for leading a team assigned to departmental projects, including project management, cost control, and technical advisory functions. Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing project evaluation and development, providing recommendations to department leadership regarding cost, scheduling, and construction considerations.
- Managing the work of various department staff, including Support Specialists, Project Coordinators, Planners/Designers, Interiors Staff, and Signage/Wayfinding Specialists.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure efficient resource allocation and operational input.
- Leading productivity and quality improvement initiatives, benchmarking performance with other facilities, and tracking progress.
- Developing, reviewing, and monitoring project budgets, ensuring cost-effective financial performance.
- Supervising the construction process, scheduling vendors, tracking progress, and preparing detailed progress reports.
- Ensuring compliance with Medical Center policies, OSHPD regulations, OSHA requirements, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Serving as an integral part of both the design and construction teams, maintaining open communication with customers and Facilities Management to enhance service delivery.
- Overseeing the maintenance and updating of project data in Cedars-Sinai’s project management and as-built plan system.
- Establishing and nurturing cross-functional working relationships to drive project success.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring responsiveness to their needs.
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
- Five years of progressive experience in healthcare facility construction and renovation, with proven ability to oversee all phases of the construction process.

- Strong project management skills, including planning, design, implementation, and monitoring.
- Effective communication of expectations, priorities, and roles within a team.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight using accounting principles.
