Key Responsibilities of the Communication, Education, and Outreach Officer

As a Communication, Education, and Outreach Officer, you will:

  • Develop a deep understanding of FCC Environment’s local services and respond to recycling and waste-related queries.

  • Analyze data and prepare insightful reports for the local Council.

  • Track and communicate KPI data to support performance monitoring.

  • Manage the Community Benefit Plan to ensure social value and community benefits.

  • Raise awareness of FCC Environment’s services by engaging residents, businesses, and key stakeholders in Havering.

  • Support the Council in targeted campaigns to reduce waste and tackle recycling contamination.

  • Create engaging content, including articles and social media posts related to environmental services.

  • Organize waste education sessions at schools, roadshows, and community events.

  • Represent FCC Environment in Council meetings and contribute to discussions on contract services and performance.

What We Are Looking for in a Communication, Education, and Outreach Officer

To be successful in this Communication, Education, and Outreach Officer role, you will need:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Experience working with voluntary groups, education sectors, or charitable organizations.

  • Knowledge of the local area and communities.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or within a team.

  • A passion for sustainability and innovation.
