Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with engineering teams and other stakeholders to refine priorities and determine functional and non-functional requirements of cloud architecture
- Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms for scale and business objectives
- Assist in developing high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
- Successfully document and communicate all concepts and guidelines to engineering teams and stakeholders
- Provide oversight, guidance, and coaching to engineers and peers
- Offer strategic guidance on application solutions, architectures, and support processes
- Ensure high technology standards and best practices are in place and followed
- Balance speed with quality
- Execute on continuous improvement of the existing applications and architecture
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; and 2-5 years of related professional experience
- Professional experience with AWS showing familiarity with the major AWS service offerings
- Experience in building secure cloud architectures using AWS engineering best practices
- Demonstrated grasp of automation for across many systems including infrastructure, builds, configuration, testing, deployment
- Ability to master a wide variety of toolsets (e.g. Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, Git, TeamCity)
- Understanding of clustering and containerization technologies
- Comfortable with at least one programming or scripting language (e.g. Python, Powershell)
- Have a functional understanding of configuration management tools (e.g. Chef, Ansible, Salt)
- Functional understanding of High-Level Architecture with the ability to design for HA/DR
- Ability to work in an Agile / Scrum environment
- Deep operational knowledge in both Windows and Linux environment
- Experience with working big data, data warehousing, data lake would be a plus
- Highly self-motivated and directed
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills
- Strong customer service orientation
