We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced paediatric physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team at King’s.
The successful candidate will have experience in leadership and service development and be able to support the existing team in effectively managing the clinical demands while providing a high quality service.
The postholder will be a physiotherapy clinical expert in the management of paediatric inpatients, with a specialised clinical skill set in either acute Respiratory or acute Neurology conditions. They will provide leadership for the inpatient team of paediatric physiotherapists who collectively cover the full range of specialities.
The Variety Children’s Hospital at King’s has a PICU/HDU; is a specialist centre for neurosurgery; CF & hepatology services; has neuro-rehabilitation beds; a paediatric trauma centre and one of the largest POSCU’s (Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit) in the South-East of England.
Fixed Term Contract and Secondment requests may also be considered.
- To be a physiotherapy clinical expert in the management of paediatric acute inpatients with appropriate highly specialist skills.
- To provide supervision and clinical support to the inpatient paediatric physiotherapy team to meet individual and service needs.
- To be responsible for clinical leadership and service development within the paediatric physiotherapy services and shape these services appropriately to respond to growing & changing clinical landscapes and the development of more advanced care options
- To use expert physiotherapy knowledge and advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide highly specialist support and advice to the paediatric physiotherapy & wider MDT team and to manage own caseload of patients with highly complex conditions as an autonomous practitioner.
- To work with the paediatric physiotherapy team to ensure a high quality, effective and efficient service to paediatric patients.
