The University of Nottingham is seeking to appoint a Clinical Associate Professor in Paediatric Endocrinology, with clinical duties as an Honorary Consultant at our partner NHS Trust, University Hospitals of Derby and Burton Foundation NHS Trust (UHDB).
This new clinical academic role has been created to enhance our research and improve clinical care in Paediatric Endocrinology.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to combine research and teaching. You will lead an internationally excellent research programme that aligns with the School of Medicine’s research strategies, making a significant impact on patient care and wellbeing. You will also teach and examine undergraduate and postgraduate students and contribute to the development of educational programs at these levels.
As part of this role, you will provide clinical services in Paediatric Endocrinology at UHDB. This includes working under an Honorary Consultant Contract to provide specialist outpatient care in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, alongside consultant colleagues to deliver a comprehensive service. UHDB manages one of the largest Paediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology caseloads within a single UK Trust, and this role will further enhance these services.
The role is split 50:50 between University and NHS duties. It is a permanent full-time position (10 PAs/week).
Applicants must maintain GMC registration with a license to practice, as well as Specialist Register status throughout the duration of the post, and engage in clinical practice at UHDB.
