Position Overview
As the Chef at LifeMoves, you will manage daily kitchen operations, leading a dedicated team to prepare over 1,200 meals each day. You will create nutritious, innovative menus, uphold high food quality standards, ensure sanitation, and foster a welcoming environment that meets the dietary and wellness needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities

Menu Development & Food Quality: Design diverse, creative menus, develop recipes, and ensure the freshness and quality of all meals.

Team Leadership: Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff, while fostering a collaborative, safe, and efficient work environment.

Operational Excellence: Oversee inventory management, supply ordering, and vendor relationships to minimize waste and control food costs.

Sanitation & Safety: Maintain high standards of kitchen cleanliness, supervise equipment maintenance, and implement sustainable practices like composting.

Client & Community Engagement: Collaborate with volunteers and partner organizations, such as SHFB, to enhance food services and create a welcoming environment for our clients.
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in high-volume food service or institutional kitchens.

Certification: ServSafe Food Manager Certification or equivalent.

Leadership: Proven experience in managing kitchen teams and operations.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with computer systems and inventory software.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
