Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Provides direct patient care under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse, tailored to the individual’s condition, age, and developmental needs.

  • Participates in and carries out the interdisciplinary care plan as assigned.

  • Organizes and adjusts care plans to respect each patient’s unique needs, preferences, and daily routines.

  • Demonstrates understanding of care priorities and supports their implementation.

  • Encourages independence and promotes self-care whenever appropriate.

  • Identifies both typical and atypical mental functioning and applies effective strategies to support patients with cognitive impairments.

  • Maintains a safe and comfortable patient environment by minimizing hazards, using restraints appropriately, and adhering strictly to infection control protocols.

  • Observes and accurately reports abnormal symptoms and signs of common health conditions in a timely manner.

  • Supports patients’ nutritional and hydration needs by providing basic meals and fluids.

  • Responds quickly and appropriately to medical emergencies in accordance with established emergency procedures.

  • Completes all documentation accurately and in compliance with established guidelines.


Clinical Competency

  • Demonstrates an understanding of state laws and regulations and consistently operates within the legal scope of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) practice.

  • Maintains clinical competency through:

    • Holding a current, valid CNA certification

    • Performing tasks within the authorized scope of practice

    • Maintaining proficiency in technical skills

    • Executing procedures only after receiving appropriate education and/or documented clinical experience


Qualifications

  • Licensure: Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required

  • Certification: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers required

Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $20.39 – $27.61 (USD)
