The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Commas, wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. Position Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Location: Denville, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (start time may adjust to 7:30 AM or end time extended in the future)
Salary Range: $37,440 – $45,760 annually ($18.00 – $22.00 hourly)

Position Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional environment for patients. As a CMA, you will assist physicians and clinical providers in delivering high-quality care by preparing patients for evaluations, documenting vital signs, maintaining exam rooms, and ensuring a smooth workflow within the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Provide direct patient care, including taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration) and documenting medical history.
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, screenings, blood draws, and POC testing.
- Update electronic medical records (EMR) with patient history, chief complaints, and medication lists.
- Practice Workflow:
- Organize and maintain exam rooms, including restocking supplies and inventory management.
- Ensure timely patient appointments and reduced wait times.
- Schedule evaluations, follow-ups, and cancellations accurately.
- Communication & Administrative Support:
- Answer phones, greet patients, and assist with administrative tasks such as faxing, filing, and scheduling.
- Make appointment reminder calls and maintain professional communication with patients and staff.
- Assist with pre-authorizations, referrals, and insurance coordination.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies.
- Maintain a safe and infection-controlled work environment.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with nursing staff and providers to streamline practice operations.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by providers, coordinators, or management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a medical office setting (2 years preferred).
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) certification required.
- CPR/BLS certification required.
- Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems (Athena experience preferred).
- Familiarity with EKG, phlebotomy, and patient care practices.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of pre-authorizations and referrals.
