Company Overview
Tru Vue is a leading manufacturer of high-performance glazing products designed for the custom picture framing, museum, photography, and engineered optics markets. We specialize in advanced glazing solutions featuring our proprietary anti-reflective and UV-protective coatings, setting the standard for clarity and protection.
Our Story
Founded in 1946 as Chicago Dial, Tru Vue initially produced glass for radio dials and later expanded into TV screens. One of our earliest breakthroughs was developing a glass etching process that reduced glare on TV screens, enhancing picture clarity.
In 1970, this innovative etched-glass technology transformed the picture framing industry by eliminating mirror-like reflections in framed artwork. Tru Vue revolutionized the market once again with the introduction of double-sided, etched non-glare glass, an industry-changing advancement that continues to shape modern framing solutions.
