Job Opportunity: Billing Specialist
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid – 3 days in the office, 2 days work from home)
Salary Range: $75K – $85K + Bonus
Are you an experienced Billing Clerk looking for a new opportunity to showcase your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment? A prestigious law firm is seeking a talented individual to join their accounting team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a team setting and values both internal and external client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Billing Processing: Generate and edit proformas, create timecard summaries, and run client reports using the Aderant accounting system. Handle routine and ad-hoc billing, including internal bills for settlements, litigation funds, and cost deposit applications. Process write-offs.
- Issue Resolution: Identify, research, and resolve rejections, reductions, or questions regarding electronic invoices.
- Correspondence: Communicate with clients and firm personnel as needed. Monitor the billing email group and respond to inquiries from both internal and external requestors.
- Support: Gather and provide support documentation for internal and financial reviews.
- Backup: Cross-train for conflict search entry, backup for deposit entry and delinquent receivables reporting, assist in monthly Lodestar reporting, and Aderant testing as needed.
- Other Duties: Perform other tasks as required to support billing and the accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of billing experience in a law firm is required. Familiarity with Aderant software is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills highly preferred. Impeccable accuracy and high attention to detail are essential.
- Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively, courteously, and professionally with attorneys, staff, and clients while maintaining confidentiality.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and execute effectively in a deadline-driven industry.
- Customer Service: Superior internal and external customer service skills. Maintain a calm, courteous, and professional demeanor with a positive attitude.
Work Schedule:
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, following an initial 90-day period.
