This is a fully remote position for candidate explicitly located in the United States of America.

 

Management Role

As an Associate Manager, Data Science, you will play a crucial role in managing junior developers, overseeing design, development, deployment, and maintenance of AI/ML projects. Responsibilities include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, behavioral and technical coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. You will approve courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations, review and approve time records, expense reports, requests for leave, and overtime, and promote all aspects of Equal Employment Opportunity policy and Affirmative Action Plan.

This role requires effective collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and peers to identify AI/ML challenges and presenting proposed solutions.

This position offers a fully remote work arrangement, allowing you to work from home. Travel requirements for this role are rare, but occasional domestic or international travel may be necessary.

 

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, with a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience in a managerial role and 5+ years in AI/ML or related field.

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Extensive experience and expertise in applying advanced statistical analysis, programming, data modeling, machine learning, and advanced mathematics to complex business questions, including Generative AI.

  • Proven track record of successfully implementing and deploying machine learning solutions, including generative models, in real-world applications.

  • Strong proficiency in advanced data engineering techniques, data pipelining, and optimization strategies, specifically tailored to support complex Generative AI workflows.

  • In-depth knowledge of modern cloud architectures, distributed computing frameworks, and scalability considerations for large-scale AI systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior team members, provide technical guidance, and contribute to the development of AI strategies and roadmaps.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets, identify patterns, and develop innovative AI solutions.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of effectively communicating AI concepts and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with technical areas such as Snowflake, Python, Spark, R, Shiny, and Jupyter.

  • Solid understanding of data management approaches, including relational databases, data schemas, object stores, column stores, and/or document stores.

 

Working Conditions and Environment:

  • Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.

  • Occasional drives to site locations with occasional travel both domestic and international.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.

  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements

  • of the fingers, hands, and wrists.

  • Frequent mobility required.

  • Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
