Position Summary

The Assistant Controller will be instrumental in overseeing the company’s financial operations. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of all accounting functions. The Assistant Controller will report directly to the Controller and collaborate with various departments to support business growth and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger entries and financial reporting, to ensure precision and effectiveness.
  • Closing Processes: Ensure the timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. Provide strategic insights based on financial data to support business decisions.
  • External Relations: Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities as necessary.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, guiding their development and ensuring high performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay current with industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes to maintain compliance and implement best practices.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • In-depth understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting.
    • Superior analytical skills with the capability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
    • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including team management, mentorship, and project coordination.
    • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive continuous improvement.
