Market Medical Director – Central Coast, CA
Adventist Health is seeking a Market Medical Director to provide clinical leadership for our ambulatory clinics in the Central Coast area of California. This key role will involve close collaboration with operations and business development teams. The Market Medical Director will oversee medical operations, spearhead quality improvement initiatives, and cultivate collaborative relationships with healthcare providers and community partners. The position will be split approximately 60% clinical (seeing primary care patients) and 40% administrative.
Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership:
- Provide clinical guidance and expertise to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and best practices.
- Promote a culture of patient safety, clinical excellence, and continuous quality improvement.

Quality Improvement:
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to optimize clinical processes and outcomes.
- Analyze clinical data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement evidence-based practices and quality benchmarks to drive continuous improvement.

Provider Engagement:
- Foster collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, medical staff, and allied health professionals.
- Support the recruitment, retention, and development of physician talent within the market/region.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, administration, and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., internal medicine, family medicine).
- 3-5 years of management experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of practicing medicine.
