What you’ll achieve:

The Accountant role will perform monthly general ledger activities in accordance with GAAP and Statutory rules. Accountant performs accounting activities and analysis by utilizing hands-on accounting experience and understanding of accounting principles and company practices. Requires a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity and able to create and maintain efficient & automated processes. This role requires analytical acumen, cognitive flexibility, technical accounting skills, and a keen attention to detail. This role has daily interaction with other departments across the company therefore it requires verbal and written communication skills.

 

Essential Duties

  • Prepare monthly accounting journal entries, covering areas such as fixed assets, credit cards, expense accruals, and revenue.
  • Serve as a backup for revenue accountant responsibilities.
  • Handle payroll accounting journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and manage commission capitalization.
  • Manage payroll and commissions journal entries and reconciliations, working closely with the Payroll Manager to explain compensation variances.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of statutory accounts and tax filings, coordinating with external tax vendors.
  • Perform complex general ledger reconciliations, analyzing source documents and resolving discrepancies.
  • Address accounting queries by interpreting relevant policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with global accounting teams to enhance reporting, drive automation, and improve processes across the organization.
  • Execute daily cash reconciliations.
  • Contribute to the annual consolidated GAAP and statutory audits, ensuring compliance with tax and other regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, continuously seeking ways to simplify and innovate.
  • Leverage business insights to suggest improvements in financial reporting.
  • Utilize a wide range of internal data resources to optimize reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborate with global accountants to provide timely responses to financial inquiries.

Desired Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited institution.
  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Public accounting and or Audit experience – either external or internal audit experience is a plus
  • Highly motivated to learn more and grow as an Accountant
  • Working knowledge of Netsuite
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven analytical and financial reporting skills using Excel, including advanced formula writing using functions, and data analytic skills.
  • Experience generating reporting to support finance and business stakeholders.
  • Prior payroll experience preferred should this individual need to back up the Payroll Manager.
