About The Role
As a member of the Confluent Sales Team, the Account Executive, Start-Ups & Growth Business is responsible for selling Confluent solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises. We expect you to use your prospecting, sales, negotiation, and leadership skills to effectively sell Confluent offerings to leading companies to meet and exceed your quarterly sales target. You must possess a “hunter/closer” mentality with a proven track record of success within a value-driven sales model.
What You Will Do
- Manage the complete sales cycle and drive revenue growth for large, diverse, complex territories
- Proactively prospect, identify, qualify, develop, and close a sales pipeline
- Participates in the development, presentation, and sales of a value proposition
- Comfortable negotiating SaaS/cloud/software contracts
- Build consultative relationships that result in growth opportunities
- Responsible for understanding Confluent offerings and the competitive landscape
- Partner with Solutions Engineers & Professional Services to ensure customer success
- Travels to customer sites to identify/develop sales opportunities when required
What You Will Bring
- 2+ years of closing experience
- Prior experience in Big Data, Cloud, SaaS, Open Source, or Enterprise IT Solutions
- Understanding of sales process methodologies (i.e. MEDDPICC, Challenger, etc.)
- Consistent track record of success and history of quota attainment in consultative sales environments
- Outstanding communication skills – written and oral including strong presentation skills
- Exceptional time management skills.
- High integrity, intelligence, self-driven, and team player
- Open to Travel to customer locations as needed
- BS/BA degree or equivalent preferred
