Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing accounts through regular in-person visits and systematic follow-ups. This role requires frequent travel, with an expected field presence of at least four days per week.
- Achieve annual sales targets by driving growth and deepening engagement with current accounts.
- Introduce new products and innovative solutions from key vendors and exclusive brand lines to enhance account penetration and build customer loyalty. Manage the product mix strategically to maximize profitability and ensure contract compliance.
- Keep customers informed about performance metrics, new products, programs, and market trends through ongoing communication and structured Business Reviews.
- Oversee the performance of the sales team, including Account Coordinators and Customer Service Representatives, to ensure successful outcomes for assigned accounts. This includes:
- Coordinating with operational and purchasing teams to deliver exceptional service.
- Optimizing Account Executive (AE) time with customers.
- Meeting or exceeding accounts receivable targets by working closely with the central AR team.
- Reviewing all accounts to ensure program compliance, developing tailored sales strategies, identifying opportunities, and driving sales growth.
- Maintaining comprehensive profiles for all accounts, including order guides, statements, and detailed reports. Ensuring accuracy in pricing information.
- Participate in Sales Meetings, Training Sessions, Food Shows, and Conferences as required by Management or to meet customer needs.
- Facilitate the setup and successful launch of new accounts as assigned.
Supervision
- This position does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.
Relationships
- Internal: Collaborates with Customer Service Representatives, Account Coordinators, VP of National Sales, National Sales Management, Accounting, Purchasing, and Operations teams.
- External: Engages with customers and vendors to build and maintain productive relationships.
Qualifications
- Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of sales or distribution experience is required, with a preference for experience in the foodservice industry or related fields. Background in restaurant operations is a plus. Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative research data is beneficial.
