Essential Functions

  • Under the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act, your essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Prepare and distribute instructional materials in accordance with teacher directives.
  • Provide attentive monitoring and assistance to students to ensure task completion while maintaining focus and minimizing disruptions.
  • Safely escort students to and from classes, activities, and transportation buses, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Facilitate one-on-one or small group activities under the guidance of teachers, reinforcing learning objectives and fostering collaboration.
  • Offer support in monitoring, intervening, and redirecting student behaviors to uphold a positive and conducive learning environment.
  • Supervise students during social interactions in cafeteria and playground settings, promoting respectful and inclusive behavior.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for student files, ensuring compliance and timely updates to computerized records.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned or required to support the educational mission of the school.

Knowledge and Skills: To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Knowledge of relevant Federal, state, county, and city statutes, regulations, and PUSD policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in following oral and written directions accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Competence in operating personal computers to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED.

The equivalent of two years of college coursework or a passing score on a state-approved competency examination.

Other Requirements: In addition to the minimum qualifications, candidates must:

  • Successfully pass a fingerprint and background clearance check.
  • Obtain and maintain an Arizona driver’s license, as required.
  • Demonstrate physical capability to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Be flexible to work outside normal working hours and travel to perform work functions as needed.
