Description
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, performs a variety of duties to include welding and fabrication according to the production schedule as well as the proper execution of tasks and general housekeeping/safety functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and perform all TIG welder requirements. Weld as schedule dictates.
- Operates various equipment to fabrication parts and sheet metal as needed
- Assists in training new employees.
- Monitors schedules and requests adjustments from supervisor as necessary.
- Makes adjustments to equipment or process as necessary and within established procedures.
- Makes job assignments as necessary and within established procedures.
- Maintains “team” environment within area of responsibilities.
- Assists in securing materials as required.
- Maintains proper records and reports.
- Communicates to Supervisors/Manager on any unusual conditions.
- Comply with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per Franklin Fueling Systems.
- Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Report problems with quality, process, equipment, and materials to Production Supervisor.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Meets daily production schedule as assigned.
- Actively participates in the production of product as needed.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
- Assists in training new employees.
Skills Knowledge And Expertise
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to effectively communicate with all production floor employees.
- Works with various hand and power tools.
- Understanding and application of TIG welding techniques.
- Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Utilizes common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.
- Provides accurate work on a consistent basis meeting precise tolerances and standards.
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to work closely with others on a team.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility in work environment performing a variety of frequently changing tasks.
- Ability to work alone effectively under stress and in situations dangerous to self or others.
- Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required).
- Six months or more experience working in a manufacturing type position (TIG welding required, fabrication and machining skills preferred).
