Order Picker/Delivery Driver Job Description
An Order Picker / Delivery Driver is responsible for reading incoming orders and selecting the correct items from the warehouse shelves before staging them for delivery.
This position would also require the individual to be a delivery driver who is concerned with customer satisfaction and transporting items in a safe, timely manner. The delivery driver will load and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules. You should be willing to work as part of the delivery team to ensure that the items are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct client.
Essential Duties:
- Operating forklifts and other heavy machinery, updating inventory counts and counting out the appropriate number of goods to fulfill and order.
- Collecting order notes to fulfill deliveries.
- Picking ordered items from storage shelves using barcodes, printed orders, etc.
- Securely shrink-wrapping items after they have been packaged and labeled.
- Operating handling equipment according to industrial safety regulations.
- Loading delivery vehicle.
- Performing general warehouse duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Abide to all transportation laws while maintaining a safe driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license issued by the state of California.
- Clean driving record.
- Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
- Strong time management and customer service skills.
